The Visual style is an essential part of the story telling. The whole film is shot in a first person perspective so everything that the viewer sees is what the main character sees.
The whole purpose of having it shot like this is to intentionally put the viewers into the shoes of a student, and show the viewers what it’s like from a real perspective. Also having it shot like this gives the viewers a personality, the viewers never really get to see the face of the main character and doing this allows the viewers to juxtapose the main character with any viewer who is enjoying the presentation.

What I Found
When researching for our project i found that in one sentence.
University doesn’t always have to be mundane it could always have the potential catch you by surprise.

Extra Information
We held several group meetings to discuss the direction of our project. We came to the conclusion that by doing a documentary we could link it to our other subjects as they all involved the same group member and would work out to be more effective in terms of resources, division of labour and also the time constraints the change in project ultimately gave us clear aims and deadlines to work towards.
Therefore, the research we conducted had two side. We firstly, used a focus group to determine the effectiveness of a documentary and how well the audience will take to it, which we then used the results to discover effective themes which finally led us to finding a rational way of creating our current campaign and client brief

Stylistic Research
There were a few things that we looked at in terms of stylistic research,
Nike Ad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkMELCCKsTY
and
Smack My Bitch Up – The Prodigy
http://www.vimeo.com/2715900
The reason we chose these videos were because they exemplified the first person POV (or point of view) camera work that we as a group were looking to achieve as an outcome for this project. Up until a couple of weeks ago, our project was still rather vague and unstructured. Once we came to a unanimous decision on the idea that this was going to be used as a piece of marketing material for our client (the UTS Union) it allowed us to remove the creative boundaries and explore the project to its full capacity.

Unique Factors
The fact that this is shot in first person is not unusual, there is no audio or dialogue, most of the information will appear as text that will be put in, through post production. Also, our project is unique because the character that we are presenting could be anyone of any creed, gender or religion, it could be me ore you and this is effective because it allows us to juxtapose the viewer and the character creating a connection with the viewer.
The film technique that we are employing is designed specifically to put the viewer in the shoes of the character and that is our ultimate goal.

Shot Locations
The shoot locations were then decided on. They include:
1. A Nightclub
2. A sporting event (playing football on the weekend)
3. Playing Video games
4. Watching movies
5. A day at the park
These locations will be represented as a hallucinatory progression in our characters mind's eye. The project ultimately opens up to a whole wave of creative ways to show this sequence.

The Proposal
Once we’ve determined what you want in your final video production, we’ll submit a proposal that will cover the scope of the entire project. The proposal will outline all of the services that Russell Video will provide, the equipment that we will use, and even the price of the final copies.
The idea for the project in its present state is based around an unnamed and gender neutral character who's face will never be exposed, so for the purposes of the exercise we decided to call this personality “X” the reason for this is so the viewer whether male/female can identify with the activities that the said character decides to participate in as part of our promotional material for the campaign. The aim of the ten minute documentary is to present a character who is takes advantage of everything student life has to offer because that is the product we endeavour to sell.

Relevance
Our group initially thought about delivering our video online or to distribute it as a DVD. We considered these two methods, because today students obtain most of their data that relates to uni and even in there social life through online university institutions or communal websites and even youtube. So we therefore, discovered that by putting our content online we would be reaching a wider audience and will be easily accessible.
Relevance
Through research we conducted we found out that content and relevance are the more important things to consider in delivering online video content. Most users rate a rewarding and quality experience a relevant one. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the video content is relevant. It has been suggested to go as far as geographic location and timezone in order to deliver the most relevant content.

Introduction - Purpose
As part of our major project,we were asked to divide up into small groups and produce a small video project of high quality and portray original ideas and make this vision of ours happen.
Our group thought long and hard about what type of production we were going to create, but here are a few that we all mutually agreed on.
- A video on Sydney's night life
- An advertisement for a social awareness such as anorexia
- Student life (SRC)
The project was based around the day in the life of a club DJ, who is trying desperately to make his love of music work with the stress and attention needed to complete postgraduate law – without compromising either of them. The project came to a standstill as he didn’t feel comfortable giving us access to the most personal and intimate parts of his life. He didn’t feel at ease with the knowledge of people knowing about his openness and forthrightness, so this in turn affected the final project and so it was scrapped after one day of shooting. This took a toll on the so called ‘independence’ of this mission and our goal became unworkable. Althoug,h we as a group were quite determined not to let this affect the 'independent' status of the project, we soon realized that this was going to be unrealistic.
We therefore changed our topic to Student life. We as students, know what it's like to experience the stress from uni and try to juggle uni work and a social life. Sometimes uni can get a bit to much with all the assessments, exams, deadlines etc, and the purpose of a student union or SRC is to develop a sense of community among its members and to provide a range of social, political, cultural, sporting and recreational activities in which students can participate. So our video in which we are going to create is soley dedicated to showing students how fun student life can be by helping promote the student union and src.
